What if you could transport the chaos of an ER scene into a pre-medical training camp? Science-U presents a fast-paced pre-medical dissection and diagnosis experience for your doctor-in-training!

Who can attend?

Students entering grades 5-8.

What's covered?

Campers will learn the basics of anatomy while dissecting mammalian organs such as the brain and heart. Each camper will be trained in physiology and pathology to gain a better understanding of the human body and the origins of diseases.  At Nittany Lion, M.D., Science-U staff will put your future pre-med students to the test as they diagnose mysterious diseases and conditions and solve cases that are puzzling even to licensed medical professionals.  Do you have what it takes to be a doctor? dissectionsLunch and Snacks

  • Snacks and drinks will be provided each day during activity breaks.
  • Campers will walk to Pollock Dining Commons each day for lunch.

Camp fees and registration

Register before midnight March 31, 2013

  • $335 (day)
  • $745 (resident)

Register after 12 am April 1, 2013

  • $365 (day)
  • $775 (resident)

Day or Resident

You can choose whether your child attends as a day or residential participant.

Day option:

9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Please drop your child off from between 8:50 and 9:00 am. Camp ends promptly at 4:00 pm. Please arrange to pick him/her up by 4:00 pm unless you opt for extended care (drop off from 7:45 am; pick up by 5:15 pm).

Resident option:

Campers can choose to stay at Penn State from Sunday evening (check-in at 4 pm and opening ceremony at 7:00 pm) until Friday afternoon (camp ends promptly at 4:00 pm). Resident campers stay in University Residence Halls. Evening mentors supervise activities and all evening outings.

Extended Care - based on enrollment

  • Add $50 per child per week for each child registered.
  • Optional drop-off starting at 7:45 am, pick up by 5:15 pm, Monday -Thursday.
  • Note: Extended care is not offered on Friday. Each camper must be picked up by 4:00 pm after the closing ceremony on Friday.
