What's covered?

Welcome to NittanyBots: Penn State Mindstormers! Through this program, students will build and program LEGO WeDo and Mindstorm NXT kits to find solutions to problems and to collaborate as a team. When their robot is complete, they will have fun watching the many things it can do (or not do if it doesn’t work). But hey, troubleshooting can be fun, too! Some of these activities are the following:NittanyBots Camper

  1. Snowball Fight on Old Main Lawn: Students will build robot catapults to fling marshmallows at other robots as well as to compete in a throwing distance contest.
  2. Climbing Mount Nittany: Students learn about gears and gear ratios when designing a robot to climb a steep incline.
  3. Wall-E and Eva go to the Creamery: Students learn about touch, light, and ultrasonic sensors in designing a robot that can navigate an obstacle course.
